SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2023 EP ARE NOW OPEN

The Professional Music Department's Berklee Revelation Records calls for applications each academic year.

​

We are now looking for submissions for our 2023 EP. Students must be enrolled at Berklee during the Spring 2023 and Fall 2023 semesters on the Boston campus only. Each student is allowed to submit up to two (2) compositions, all of which must be original music by the student turning in the application.

 

Guidelines for this year's submission: ​

  • Theme: Issa Vibe: a sonic atmosphere of artists sharing energy and elevating vibrations

  • Who we are looking for: 

    • Artists/Bands 

    • Open to genres including chill R&B, soul, lofi, jazz, hiphop, spoken word, instrumental, and music from all languages 

  • Length of individual songs is 5 minutes maximum

  • All submissions must be an original composition by the artists/collaborators. The composers retain all rights.

  • All artists/collaborators must be currently enrolled Berklee and Berklee at Boston Conservatory students in the Spring 2023 and Fall 2023 semester on the Boston campus.

  • No hate speech 

  • Songs must be original compositions written for this album only. We will not accept previously released songs via any platforms, or any songs that are set for release within two years of the BRR album release date in August/September 2023.

  • Each artist/band will work with a mixing and mastering engineer to finish the chosen track(s). 

  • Up to two (2) songs may be submitted for each student.

  • Songs are to be submitted via a Soundcloud link and must be in mp3 format. Submissions via Soundcloud must have permissions set to private, able to be downloaded, and not made public.

  • Submission forms must be completed in full. 

  • Must be available for Berklee Revelation Records artists showcase tentatively on May 5 or 6, 2023.

  • Must be available to attend required meetings regarding recording contract.

 

Criteria for selection include but are not limited to the following:

  • Current status as a Berklee College of Music student in good standing required. You must have a 2.7 GPA.

  • Level of performance/compositional/musical integrity   

  • Quality of demo unimportant—Logic, ProTools, etc. is fine, but the recording must be a clear mp3 or .wav file. However, if you have a professional sounding recording, we'll take it! 

 

Contract and Important Dates: 

  • Upon selection, students will be asked to sign a contract which can be reviewed HERE (to view you must be logged into your Berklee email). The course faculty member will be available for questions that you may have at revelationrecords@berklee.edu.

  • Dates: (Dates subject to change and will be shared with all artists) 

    • App Due: March 6th 

    • Notify Artists: Week of March 6th 

    • Contracts Due: March 13th 

    • Recording, Mixing, Mastering: March 14th - April 16th 

    • Open Mic & Artist Feature: March 27th & April 3rd (tentative) 

    • Compilation Preview Show: May 5th or 6th 

    • Compilation Release: Late Summer/Early Fall 2023
